A New Term at Viv'Art: Nutcracker Season, Half-Term Fun and Fresh Beginnings

A new term is beginning at Viv’Art Movement Academy, bringing new classes, creative opportunities and exciting plans for our dancers, their families and the wider community.
This term will be filled with rehearsals, workshops, performances and plenty of time together in the studio. From preparing for our November production of The Nutcracker to welcoming new families at our Erith location, there is a lot to look forward to.
Nutcracker season begins
Our dancers in Viv’Art Performing Arts will be working towards our Nutcracker show, which premieres in November.
This is a special project for our students. A full production gives dancers the opportunity to develop more than technique. They learn choreography, musicality, character work, stagecraft and the importance of working as part of an ensemble.
Over the coming weeks, our studios will be full of music, movement and rehearsal. Every dancer will have an important part to play, whether they are performing in a principal role, supporting the story as part of the ensemble or taking their first steps on stage.
Preparing for a production also helps children build focus, responsibility and confidence. They learn how individual effort contributes to a shared result. Most importantly, they experience the enjoyment of creating something together.
We cannot wait to see the production take shape and to share it with our families in November. Further information about the show will be shared with families as rehearsals progress.

October half-term camp
Our October half-term camp is planned for dancers and their friends , including friends who have joined us before and those who may be discovering Viv’Art for the first time.
Half-term camp is a chance to spend time in a creative, active environment during the school break. Dancers can enjoy movement, performance activities and new experiences while making friends across our wider community.
A workshop with Gather and Create
We will also be partnering with Gather and Create for a creative workshop.
The workshop will offer dancers the chance to explore making, imagination and hands-on creativity alongside their movement activities. Working with different materials and approaches helps children develop ideas in new ways and supports the creative thinking that is central to performing arts.
Another theatre visit
Theatre visits have become an important part of our wider programme, helping dancers experience live performance as audience members as well as performers.
We will be organising another theatre visit during the new term. It will be an opportunity for our students to watch professional performers, see the work that goes into a live production and share the experience with their friends.
We will share more details about the half-term camp, the workshop and the theatre visit soon. Please stay tuned for dates, booking information and what to bring.
Cic Clothing: gifts for dancers
We have also launched our Cic Clothing online shop.
The shop includes Viv’Art merchandise and ideas for gifting your dancer. With Christmas approaching later in the term, it may be a useful place to find something for the young performer in your family.
A piece of dancewear or academy merchandise can be a practical gift, a reminder of a special performance or a way for dancers to celebrate their connection to Viv’Art.
Please look out for more information about the available items and how to shop.

A new home for Friday morning classes in Erith
This term, Viv’Art is starting at a new location: The Exchange Erith.
Our Friday morning classes will take place in the North Room, which will become a dedicated dance studio for our youngest students and junior dancers.
The Exchange is located at:
The Exchange
The Old Library
Walnut Tree Road
Erith
DA8 1RA
The venue is a community-led arts and crafts space in Erith. We are pleased to be joining the programme and bringing dance classes to the local community.

Preschool Ballet
Our Preschool Ballet classes are designed for young children who are beginning to explore movement, music and imaginative play.
Classes support early development through simple ballet exercises, rhythmical activities and age-appropriate movement. Children can begin to develop coordination, listening skills, physical awareness and confidence in a structured but enjoyable setting.
The classes are suitable for preschool-aged children and provide an introduction to ballet in a welcoming environment.

Junior Ballet for ages 6+
We will also offer Junior Ballet for children aged six and above.
These classes are directed towards the homeschooling community and provide a regular opportunity for children to learn ballet, develop technique and meet other young dancers.
Junior Ballet introduces students to the foundations of classical ballet while supporting musicality, posture, coordination and confidence. Children can work at their own level and continue to develop through regular practice.
The new Friday morning programme is open to families who are already part of Viv’Art and to those who would like to join us for the first time.

Thank you for a successful summer
Before the new term begins, we would like to thank everyone who took part in our summer clubs during July.
The summer programme was a great success because of the enthusiasm, creativity and energy brought by our dancers. We enjoyed welcoming familiar faces and new participants, and we are grateful to every family who trusted us with their children during the holidays.
Thank you to all the dancers for taking part, trying new activities and supporting one another. Thank you also to parents and carers for your encouragement and continued support.
Holiday programmes depend on a strong community, and we are grateful to be part of ours.
Welcome back to our teachers
We are also delighted to welcome back our wonderful teachers for the new term:
- Miss Anita

We are grateful to our teaching team for creating classes where students can learn, ask questions, practise new skills and build confidence. Their care and dedication make a lasting difference to our dancers.
